Sensing's principals have several decades of local and international industry experience. The company has rapidly established a reputation for innovation and reliability, already providing development solutions to high profile Government clients.

There is increasing demand for sensing solutions to do more than just detect and alert. Today's professionals are demanding a true state of situational awareness and also the capability to respond in a number of ways depending upon the situation and nature of the event.

Our company design and produce sensing technologies suitable to a wide range of applications across a large number of market segments and users and our solutions have applications almost anywhere that critical information is required and or communicated.

Prisons and Detentions Centres

PRISONS AND DETENTION CENTRES

Every day the media details the increasing amount of contraband that is finding its way into correctional facilities, simply thrown over perimeter fences to be retrieved by inmates.

Contraband ranges from mobile phones and SIM cards through to weapons and drugs. These items are usually hidden inside a projectile such as a tennis ball and existing surveillance and detection solutions are simply unable to reliably detect objects this small.

The Osprey lightweight, low-cost, small airborne object radar sensor is the solution.

Osprey radar will alert security staff to objects as small as a golf ball travelling through the Radar’s detection curtain. The Osprey radar gives unrivalled detection of small objects during day or night, in any weather or visibility conditions.

Keeping track with technology

As methods of breaching perimeter security are becoming more sophisticated, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) to deliver contraband is becoming commonplace. Osprey Air UAV Detection Radar is designed to offer perimeter protection from drones and UAVs as the approach and cross into the facilities airspace.

Osprey’s Radar sensors close the last gap in correctional facility perimeter protection.

Defence

The armed forces have a wide variety of high profile facilities, with boundaries often adjoining publicly accessible areas. These sites include munitions facilities, power and communications centres, testing facilities, personnel accommodation and equipment storage depots and all require twenty-four hour protection of both the assets managed at the site, as well as the military personnel working or living there.

In many cases, these facilities are equipped with many types of perimeter protection, including cameras, fence sensors and conventional radar, but none of the existing perimeter protection systems are capable of notifying base security staff if a small IED has been thrown over a perimeter fence into a key compound for detonation at a later time.

Osprey can provide vital information including the time and nature of an airborne object breaching the perimeter of a military facility, resulting in the efficient deployment of response forces and potentially avoiding serious consequences.

DEFENCE

Transport

TRANSPORT

Those providing transport service via land, sea or air often face common challenges in perimeter security due to the nature of these operational facilities covering immense areas, spanning hundreds, sometimes thousands, of acres, often located in urban areas.

Seaports include both a seaside that cannot be fenced and a landlocked area, port security must account for these two vastly different terrains.

Airports face specific security challenges airports also have become increasingly encroached by housing developments and warehouses. The size of airports makes it impractical and often cost prohibitive to surround their perimeters with secure fencing and other similar security devices.

The length and breadth of rail networks and the sheer volume of rolling stock, often stored outdoors, makes railways a prime target for vandalism and sabotage.

The use of Sensing radar solutions can enable the cost-effective detection of intruders over large areas or establish ‘virtual perimeters’, where physical barriers are impractical, detecting people and objects crossing into the facilities operational space.

Critical Infrastructure

CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

Governments worldwide are under increasing pressure to protect their people and national infrastructure from both criminal and terrorist attack. Mission critical facilities include power stations and oil, gas and water processing plants and pipelines.

Areas requiring protection are often remote, with little on hand in the way of power and communications. Sensing’s suite of radar solutions is ideally suited for rapidly deployable, mobile installation, securing areas in and around critical infrastructure, providing remote, advanced warning of potential intruders allowing personnel to respond to the threat before any damage is done.

Whether the concern be that of people trespassing or approaching a perimeter or perimeter incursion from airborne objects such as UAVs, sensing has the solution

Government

GOVERNMENT

Government facilities are logical targets for nuisance, vandalism and more recently terrorism.  Often facilities need to be secured under the most difficult of circumstances with few or no physical perimeter boundaries and areas regularly and legitimately frequented by the public. In addition to the impact on local persons and assets, a deliberate attack at a government site could result in devastating effects on national security, public health or public safety.

The recent increase in drone related security incidents indicates a growing threat to Government as Drones continually become easier to acquire and operate and allowing persons to carryout acts of vandalism terrorism from remote locations.

Detection and identification is an important part of any response to attempts by persons or drones to disrupt, disable or illegally monitor Government operations.

Industrial

The industrial market is experiencing an increased need for security as a variety of threats including sabotage and theft are on the rise. Applications include, but are not limited to, the chemical / petrochemical industry, oil & gas operations (refineries / tank farms / offshore rigs / well pads), mining operations, power stations (conventional / nuclear), manufacturing / warehousing operations and communications / cellular sites. All these installations may hold commercially sensitive information which before the wave of flying camera that are now droning through our skies would have been protected from prying eyes by fencing. Drones can know access these sites easily and surreptitiously and record commercially sensitive information without anyone being any wiser until it is too late.
